Seacraft06
The weather so far has been extra windy. But we have managed to hide from the wind on the days it’s 💨. Fishing the mangroves can pay off.

Seacraft06
Jarrod and his dad wanted to spend some quality time together on the boat. They had never targeted tarpon. The day started off slow so we switched gears and went and caught a bunch of snappers for dinner. Once the dinner was put together we gave the tarpon another shot. This time they cooperated and they got their first one!

MuddyBottomBluz
I remember being stationed on the USCGC Thetis-910, 270 foot medium Endurance Cutter out of Key West (she is still there) from 89-91. We came back off of a long Caribbean patrol and everybody wanted to get home, BADLY! But just then a captain had his client hooked to a big tarpon right in front of this 270 foot Coast Guard Cutter. We all yelled to the bridge in order to give the captain a chance to get the client and the fish out of the way. Well, a 270 foot ship does not have brakes and we put her in neutral but I guess the line got hooked on one of our stabilizers and broke him off. Believe it or not we were all disappointed after seeing this Tarpon jump and the angler fighting it. But in the end everyone did what they could and the charter captain understood as well because he pulled up after we docked and said thank you for doing what we could. Ahhhh Key West Tarpon, expect the unexpected!
