YeahBuoy
Stupid question. Does anyone know what this box is for? It's mounted in the bilge of my 2004 HPX.
Headhunter
cast net or wet storage?
fin-addict
Mounted, how so. Castanet/storage bin.
YeahBuoy
Oh ok, I could see that I guess. I've just never seen something like that in the bilge before. By mounted I just meant it's stuck to the bottom by some type of adhesive 5200 or something. Thanks!
HoneyB
Odd that even if someone added it to keep stuff in place it doesn’t have some holes to let water drain.
YeahBuoy
It actually does have a couple of small holes in the side of it for water to drain.
Coto
All of them have it. I keep a spare composite prop and prop wrench in it. My power pole pump is bolted to it as well so I don’t have to put it in a hatch and take up valuable storage space on such a small skiff. YeahBuoy
Awesome Thanks! @Coto I see you have a 115 on yours. I have an 2004 HPXV with a Yamaha 90 2 stroke. I love the skiff with this motor, but I know I'm eventually going to have to go 4 stroke one day. How do you like the performance with the 115? Coto
It’s a rocket ship but I’d be happy with a 90. I don’t run fast anymore, I’m usually running mid to high 30’s.
YeahBuoy
@Coto Yeah I hear you on that. I noticed many people putting F70s on them to save draft. I'm leaning towards that I fish Northeast FL on sallow oyster flats so I don't want to lose too much draft, but I'm afraid I might miss the power of the 90.
