FunFlatsFishing
Does anyone know what kind of bait in Tampa is referred to as "big eye"? Looks very similar to white bait/scaled sardines but has bigger eyes. They weren't threadfins either.

FunFlatsFishing
Whatever it is, the king mackerel love them. Do we get goggle eyes in the Tampa area?
hurricane
Bigeye Skad. http://floridasportfishing.com/bigeye-scad/ I have never caught them here in the Bay, but I'm sure they are here. Where did you catch them, flats or out in deep water? Net or sabiki?
FunFlatsFishing
I think that's the winner. Big eye skad. Caught them in a cast net about a mile offshore on a tripod. About 5 of them came in with about 150 white baits. Every single one of these got slammed by a king whereas the white bait wasn't getting touched.
