johnd
Pogies in the surf off Cocoa Beach, Pilchards off the beach south of Patrick. When I say "off the beach" mean like darn near in the surf- 4ft of water. Tarpon started showing early last week. We got out yesterday, landed one (over 100), missed 2. All in under 20ft. If the west wind will stay, skiffs can run the beach..
firstdue
John, We had the same experience Tuesday and Wednesday, 20-30' the poons were crashing glass minnows with the Bonita but were extremely happy to inhale well placed pogies!!! Went 4 for 9 on the poons , 2 pushing 125-140. Seemed to be a mid day bite around 1130 it started both days for us, and there were some very large schools of poons coming in from the deeper water, hopefully they stick around for a while! johnd
Nice! 4 for 9. We had better bites early, but I think it's tide dependent.
