Jlb
I noticed black sticky rubber on the floor of my boat after the last trip and realized it is the grommets at the bottom of the console rod holders falling apart. The boat is a year old have any of yall had this issue?
gambler1
Could be a harsh chemical/cleaning product that you might be using when washing the boat?
Jlb
I only use starbrite non skid deck cleaner. It is not harsh at all.
SCFD rtrd.
My boat is a 2013 and not problems with the rod grommets. Are they all coming apart (melting) or just one????? You don't use skeeter spray in your boat do you?
Jlb
They all have. I found the manufacturer to replace them but seems like something that would not happen to rubber grommets. No mosquito spray has gotten on them. This was the only 3 that did not fall completely apart.
Laid Back
My boat is right at a year and a half old, and I don't have this issue.

NCTribute
Do you spray your reels with WD-40 or Reel Magic, seems like something reacted with them? I had issues right away with the rubber pieces on my boat, but the issue was that the screws holding them in place would pull thru the rubber. Got longer stainless screws with washers and put thru the thicker part of the rubber and no problems since.
Jlb
There is nothing that could have reacted with them unless they have a reaction to cork. Really surprised no one has had this issue as all 8 of them are falling apart. Hopefully it was a bad batch.
ATB
I had the same problem on a 22TE, i think it was just heat and sun melting them. Replaced with a harder plastic one from Amazon and not had any issues. ran about $10 per.
