koondog
Just got a VF150 sho running a 4 blade powertech 17 pitch prop . Lot's of prop chatter / vibration when put in gear....give it a hair bit more gas and it totally goes away. Wasn't sure if any one had any experience with this and if so are there ways to fix it? flatwater
Is there only vibration when shifting or after shifting and running at low RPMs?
Miss Jazzy
My PT done the same thing. I was told they will do that when shifting because that prop is so heavy. Never had a problem out of it though.
koondog
flatwater... there is vibration when shifting and idling...once i bump the throttle just a little...(practically still idling..) it goes away. It's strictly when you put it in gear with no more throttle Yea the mechanic said it wasn't an issue just due to the prop being heavy. I just wanted to check with others to see if they had experienced this and anything to try outside of additional props.
jason p
My PT 4 blade does the same thing.
slyshon
And most all the 4 strokes do it. Regardless of prop, the 4 strokes have more vibration than the older 2 strokes. The heavier the prop the worse it is but it happens on every 4 stroke. Skip
geeviam
I have a new VF115 SHO and it does the same thing. Some vibration in gear, under 900 RPM. Smooths out above 900 RPM. Tested many props with the similar results. Gary

justfish
Interesting, my experience has been different...my 115 on my pathfinder had it bad with 3 blade but none with PT 4 blade on it or my current Pathy". Both 2 strokes tho i also noticed it worse going with current. Like boat was outrunning prop at low rpm
