rubble Posted November 3, 2016 Report Posted November 3, 2016 Looking for some info on where to go to get on the Reds in LA? Possible guides and places to stay? Have some buddies that go to Venice and they seem to like it okay but they say they have about a 25 mile run from the dock to get to the fish and they are fishing the main channel cuts rather than in the marshes. Recommendations/Suggestions?
GatorJ Posted November 3, 2016 Report Posted November 3, 2016 I recommend targeting the Delacroix area. It is a very large expanse of marshes, bayous and duck ponds. It is a consistent area for shallow water / sight fishing redfish. Best of all, it is close to New Orleans. Most guides in the area have their customers stay in NO, then meet them on the outskirts, have a very early breakfast, then head to the ramp for a day of fishing. www.rodngun.com has lists / ads from guides as well as fishing reports and pics posted by them. Could be a good starting point for planning your trip.
Tarpon1215 Posted November 3, 2016 Report Posted November 3, 2016 Try Hackberry Rod And Gun Club! Heard good things about them.
Chuck59 Posted November 9, 2016 Report Posted November 9, 2016 Check out Woodland Plantation. Great place, good food, boat friendly and large availability of guides. Woodland is located in West Point a La Hache, Louisiana.. www.woodlandplantation.com Capt. Dave Marino is a very good redfish guide located minutes from the Plantation
