MarcoFishHippie Posted November 3, 2016 Report Share Posted November 3, 2016 I just started replacing all my old Gemlux hinges with new Gemlux friction hinges. While they work great, my hatch covers don't close snug. I don't have any latches on my hatch covers. Has anyone ever had this? He said they will break in a little over time, but not a lot. He suggested slam latches. Note - I've only had this issue on smaller hatch covers such as the live well and the cooler on the front of the console. The larger, heavier hatches are fine. Overall, I am super happy with the hinges as the totally eliminate the need for gas shocks or anything else to keep the hatches from slamming open or shut.
