bankerhours Posted November 29, 2016 Report Share Posted November 29, 2016 Hey everyone, longtime lurker but don't post much.I am selling a 2004 Yamaha F40 off my Maverick HPX-V 15. Motor has 564 hours (I have owned the motor since 2013 - had 240 hours when I bought it). These motors are infamous for the fuel jets getting clogged and the carbs being a pain overall, with that being said in the past 2 years I had the entire fuel system of the boat (including the original fiberglass fuel tank being swapped for an aluminum tank by Maverick) replaced along with running only non-ethanol gas and a carb job. Since then I have had zero issues with the motor. Maintenance has been done by Marine Specialties in New Smyrna since I have owned the boat. Motor is still on my boat so I can gladly run it for anyone interested. I am selling due to recently purchasing a Yamaha 50TLR to save on weight.
