Hookem40 Posted December 9, 2016 Report Posted December 9, 2016 Just curious...I hand my Pathfinder dealer install a powerpole. They told me they like to install them low. I noticed that the Pathfinder manuel shows the backing plate higher up. Also, the bottom of the pole sits in the water a couple of inches when upright. Most pictures I see have it mounted higher. Should I be concerned?
bernieNC Posted December 9, 2016 Report Posted December 9, 2016 Nope, don't worry. Mine is mounted in the same place and works great.
fishmanjj Posted December 9, 2016 Report Posted December 9, 2016 I do not know if it matters, I have seen them high , low, off to the side of jack plate, etc. here is a pic of where mine is mounted.
Bamaskeet Posted December 9, 2016 Report Posted December 9, 2016 Yours is mounted in the correct location, the low location will give you the ability to stick in slightly deeper water.

Tarpon1215 Posted December 9, 2016 Report Posted December 9, 2016 Yours is done correctly. Not to worry. The advantage here is that you will be able to anchor a little deeper than those mounted elsewhere.
mustang190 Posted December 11, 2016 Report Posted December 11, 2016 Question,, why didn't you mount it to the jack plate?? I mounted mine there and have no issues. Plus the whole thing took less than an hour to do. Just asking.
