Wanaflatsfish
I recently bought an Avid Inshore St. Croix - their new top of the line spinning rod - $240. When I purchased they offered a full replacement warranty for $55. Best $55 I've spent in a while. I ended up snapping the tip about 6 inches down last week. Brought it in to BPS - 30 min later, walked out with a new one. They stood behind it as presented...worth every penny dc
MPFit
Doesn't st Croix offer a warranty on all their products at no cost?
Wanaflatsfish
Yes, but it's only for something due to lack of workmanship...and, you have to send it in.... With the BPS warranty...walk in with broken rod...leave with a new one.... After two years you can then use their (St. Croix) warranty....rod breaks....send it in and $85.... dc
conocean
Hence the reason I dont buy St Croix rods. Seen way too many break. Thankfully you bought the warranty. I sold all the Loomis custom rods I built years ago. Shimano rods are half the cost of St Croix and Ive never had one break. My son, girlfriend and I are very rough on our gear. Free warranty replacement direct thru Shimano is a breeze and the cost to ship a broken rod back to Cali is about $10. Something to consider in the future!
