Capt.JGordon
thanks i spend a lot of time keeping it looking that way. that boat probably has less hours on it than most others built ten years later in 2008. i bought it 11 months ago with 360 hours from the original owner, it was a freshwater use boat. i looked for a long time for this hull but waited til i found a cherry and this was it for sure. Capt.JGordon
what real world speed on gps do you get with the 150 mariner. loaded
finnatic651
Capt, In the mariners previous life it was a 150, Now it is a merc 200..Flat out, loaded with 2 guys, gps says 60mph with a 4 blade..For me at least. that's a bit scary, I cruise at 40@4500rpm..roughly..I only had the 150 for 2 days and it seemed it was about 10mph less.. Capt.JGordon
that is good.. mine runs right about 52 with people, gas, and a lot of gear. thats at around 5700 rpm though. i want to say that if i emptied it out and ran solo with no gas, spinning a 23pitch. i would be close to 60. which would be nice to try

Capt.JGordon
just dropped off my Raker 22 to have some heavy cupping added as well as re-pitching to 24.. my goal is 60 light loaded.
squidmotion
can't even imagine 60 in my boat... LOL. if i ever move back home, i'm gonna buy a non-tunnel version!
Capt.JGordon
once again im reminded of how hard it is to prop this boat.. its by no means "fast" now but my economy went up greatly. im only hitting 50mph WOT at 5500rpm. and my bow is not near as high as it needs. however at 4500rpm i am running 42mph. oldsalt
I am no prop guru but, 24 seems like a lot of pitch for a 150. I turn a 21 three blade on my 175. Boat is two feet longer and a little wider. No problem getting the bow up. If anything I need to trim the nose down a little, but in general I use very little tab. Did you run your numbers by Marcus? Capt.JGordon
i was spinning the 22 raker to my max rpm with plenty of throttle left..the 24 now is right on the money as far as WOT rpm but just doesnt have enough bow lift, even after admiral prop in tampa did everything they could to it... so far the BEST prop as far as bite, lift, and top end has been a 14.75 x 21 SST but i was a little high on rpm at WOT. my rpm were lower, had more bite in corners, and flew the bow much better under a load with the SST compared to RAKER. id like to get my hands on a 23 pitch SST

oldsalt
That looks very good. I'll bet your back appreciates too! Out of curiousity, why did you opt for the permanent rest, and not the removeable?
Capt.JGordon
the removable rod holder ones require you to have tubes going into the underside, taking away storage space for cast net buckets, they rattle a little bit, and it looks cleaner this way
squidmotion
nice! most guys who have one never take them off, as far as i know. i have a plan for a backrest on mine as well, attached to a re-designed poling platform, hpx style... but it's kinda far down on the list. that really looks nice, and comfy! the best thing is, no storage lost, and i bet it works nicely with the open and close of the lid... is it pretty solid? excellent design! Capt.JGordon
very solid, i could probably stand on it. made about a 10 mile run today in some chop and i just leaned back the whole time and cruised
