FunFlatsFishing Posted January 22, 2017 Report Posted January 22, 2017 Anyone know the gel coat color used on a 2005 Pathfinder 2200 V TE? I just removed a transom mounted Power Pole and some cup holders from the center console. Is the color Oyster White? The colors may be different on the center console and the bottom of the boat I tried an off the shelf color and it doesn't match up very well.
Miss Jazzy Posted January 23, 2017 Report Posted January 23, 2017 Oyster white is the color but it may not be a perfect match of a boat that old
FunFlatsFishing Posted January 23, 2017 Author Report Posted January 23, 2017 Is it the same color on the center console as it is the bottom of the boat?
FunFlatsFishing Posted January 23, 2017 Author Report Posted January 23, 2017 Any ideas on the best place to buy that doesn't cost $100 for a quart?
mulligan Posted January 23, 2017 Report Posted January 23, 2017 Minicraft and Spectrum sell gel coat in small amounts to match factory colors. I think they are about $30 for a few ounces. I just buy a quart of white and mix in the color to match. Once you know what colors to add to the white it is easy to get a spot on match. The cost of white gel coat is about $20 and is a lifetime supply of hole patching. Here is my PowerPole holes with white gel coat colored to match.
Bamaskeet Posted January 23, 2017 Report Posted January 23, 2017 At onetime your Pathfinder dealer could order from Pathfinder but haz mat shipping will hurt you. The best way was for your dealer to order the gelcoat with a shipment of boats. You might want to ask your dealer.
RodWorks Posted January 23, 2017 Report Posted January 23, 2017 iboats.com sells Spectrum Kits matched to your hull color. The oyster white was a perfect match on my '03. Your other color was called Fighting Lady Yellow as I recall.

What did you mix in to get such a good match?
smooth move Posted January 30, 2017 Report Posted January 30, 2017 jeez----why are the holes sooooo big.
mulligan Posted January 30, 2017 Report Posted January 30, 2017 That color is not the oyster white, my hull is Grey. The white on mine is white mixed with brown. The white on my last hewes was white mixed with brown and yellow. The holes are so big because the past owner had the power pole held in with epoxied in anchors.
Lowcountry Joe Posted January 30, 2017 Report Posted January 30, 2017 What they said : Spectrum will be a perfect match if used as directed. I have used it in several areas on my 2007 PF and it always matched to where you couldn't tell it was used.
HarleyG8r Posted January 31, 2017 Report Posted January 31, 2017 Are you local to SE FL? I've got an almost full quart of Spectrum Oyster White left over from a project, be happy to donate a small jar to your cause.

FunFlatsFishing Posted January 31, 2017 Author Report Posted January 31, 2017 How would a product like Awl Grip Polyester Urethane Topcoat Base compare? My Pathfinder dealer gave me a leftover quart they had in Oyster White H8139. Even this color is a little too white but I'm sure that's what happens when a boat fades/changes colors over the years.
