Tgreg1
Hi all. Have a 2016 2200 trs with MK 24v ipilot. It struggles at times with inlet fishing keeping up with spot lock. Would like to move to 36v. I sent it as simple as swapping trolling motor and adding a battery? Or does the wiring to up front also have to change? I bought the boat with the trolling motor installed so I'm unsure what came from the factory vs the dealer. Thx
fishmanjj
I did not change any wiring when going to 36v from 24v. I added one battery to the mix, changed to a 3 bank charger and plugged the 36 v in the standard PF plug up front...after two years, still no problem. The only thing I will tell you is.......if you put those three batteries in your console, be sure to give it plenty of ventilation when charging....and if they are wet batteries, check the water level regularly if you charge often. Grant
Fishmanjj is spot on about the wiring and also space & ventilation concerns. You will be happy with the new generation bluetooth I-Pilot. Big improvement in SpotLock performance even when sticking with 24V.
