B2TB
I'm on my third light ( installed by a local marina) in a short period of time. Water seems to get inside and the light shorts out. I read a post on another site from someone saying you can't wash down the boat with the light in the down position on the poling tower. Has anyone else had this experience? whichwaysup
Okay, brace yourself here. I'm going to give you the fix for this issue. It is highly technical and will require a PhD in engineering. Take the cover off the light. Drill a hole in the top of it (which, if you are like 99% of us, is now actually on the bottom of the light, because you have it mounted under your poling platform). Reinstall the cover. Problem solved. I had the same issue and the same question. Someone gave me the same answer. No more issues!

hurricane
Drilling can help, but leave it up and it will last forever..
FLDXT
Mine is the same way, I have the hoke drilled and sealed around the base with silicone, still have an issue. Poor design for sure.
