CharlestonMav
Does anyone with this engine or similar know how many mpg they get. I have never paid attention to it, although I have run to near empty in one day running a lot. I have a 20 gallon tank and I'm trying to figure this out to plan how much fuel to take for a trip. I'm in school and may not have time to figure this out at home on my own before the trip. I also know it varies alot with current, wind, etc. Just looking for a general range. Thanks
justfish
On my pathfinder w 115 which is very similar motor I always figured 4 mpg cruise.
Drummer
I have the same engine on my LT18 and use 3.5 mpg as a baseline. Fortunately, I have a 40 gallon fuel tank, which helps.
mulligan
The 115 I had got 3.5 IF I was cautious of how I ran, normal was 3. They call them "1 thirsty" for a reason.
KeeKee Run
I had a 92 130 carbureted on a 18.5 MA. I was only getting about 2.5 mpg. I ran it hard and my older MA is on the heavy side. Had a 50 gallon tank and needed it
Bamaskeet
We used a rule of thumb for carburated outboards that was very accurate. They will burn 10% of their rated horsepower WOT and 5% at 4000 rpm, gallons per hour. Your motor will burn 13 gallons an hour WOT and 7.5 at 4000 rpm. lurem
I have always wanted to check mine. I believe it is right around 2 MPG running WOT more often that not.
