New to boating
Bought my first boat and like doing things myself, makes me appreciate my things more. I have a Bass Buggy 18 DLX with a Helix 8 mounted on the drivers console with the factory mounting bracket. I was thinking of mounting the heading season next to the Helix but saw info in the manual about installing it to close to electronics and metal. Any thoughts or advice on this location? I am worried that the metal of the bracket and the electronics of the Helix will interfere with the puck or am I over thinking it? Thanks in advance
smilemaker
it needs to be treared just like the magnetic compass that it is related to. many compass phone apps will have a component that shows magnetic interference. use it to find an appropriate spot on the boat as close as possible to the midline.
