inshoreaddict
Hi i stay part time in North Carolina and have heard how awesome the striper fishing is in the Roanoke river. Im just looking for any tips or tricks as I've never fished the river before. any tips on when the fish usually start running up stream, good ramps, what kind of spots to fish and what baits everyone uses. Anything would be great, thanks!
whichwaysup
Hey inshore, I have been on that ruver a few times. Yes, it can be absolutely epic. Lets talk, shoot me a pm with a good time and i can fill you in. In the meantime, take a look at the tarpam guide website. Rich Andrews is an AWESOME guy and an even better guide. First time up there, I highly recommend you hire him. You can spend a week on that river and not catch fish if you dont know what you are doing. One trip with him will be an investment that will pay big dividends for a long time. He runs a 22 pathy, btw. Btw, start stocking up on 1/2 oz jig heads, you will burn through em! whichwaysup
When its on, its on up there, we caught 50 of these fish in a couple of hours up there last spring. The lure would hardly hit the water before you had the rod yanked outbof your hand!
