Boattronics
Thanks guys! Lots of progress.... we finally got the hull, topsides and even insides (compartments, bilge, etc) in primer. Next, the tedious task of sanding the entire boat inside and out, with 280 grit. I put out a call for volunteers on Facebook.... and 11 people showed up at my shop at Friday evening about 6pm. Some of which I've never met before.... and most of them stayed untill we were done at 3am! I thought this was pretty amazing. Saturday morning I returned, and exceeded manufacturers recommendations by going over the entire boat again with 320. My buddy Matt came and helped me all day. Finally, Sunday 4 more helpers showed up and we wiped the entire boat down with Alexseals special solvent, then again with tack rags. We were now ready! The paint came out beautifully. She's going to cure in the sun for a day, then we will begin rigging. In a few spots, we got some dust contamination, but that will buff out. After doing the entire boat with 1500, then 2500, then polish and wax we have a perfect finish. Next up is the engine! I've got it mostly sanded, ready for the first coat of zinc chromate primer to protect against corrosion.

geeviam
This is a great build thread! The boat is turning out to be a beauty! It is so cool to see the progression of the work in your pictures. Thank you for sharing the experience! I have a 1974 24' Donzi hull that's waiting to become a project like this someday. Major task - a lot of plywood in those boats back then. It would have to be stripped down to the skin. Your work here is good motivation though! Boattronics
Thanks guys! Moving along..... Prepping the engine with zinc chromate primer to prevent corrosion. And finally, paint is applied. Following painting with 1500 and then 2500, then buff and wax as per manufacturer recommended. Boat all shiny now and ready to rig. My cobia partner Don giving me a hand with the rub rail. Mousa came by and teased me with a sample from my uhpolstery. Up next to the grey- Lots and lots of uhpolstery coming down the line... Found a cooler that matches the theme.

Boattronics
Well let me keep you smiling here! Today I put the custom built 23" display in the console, and it was staggering. The shiny black glass litteraly goes wall to wall of this large helm. The insane display, complimented by the shiny black wheel and other pieces is simply amazing to look at. It took everything I had to not take a picture.... I got a few more pieces to add before I show the first shot... if I can stand it! I also got the 14" JL Audio Subwoofers in, all 50lbs of them. 1000 constant, rms watts through these things might rip the dang boat in half! Getting ready to start wrapping the wheel and all the grab rails on the boat with matching mocha colored parachord.
Boattronics
Moving along! Havnt shown you guys my engine yet, it came out nice. Almost every piece of metal on the entire boat is powder coated black. Even the electronics are getting painted.... here's a look at the 4G Broadband radar. Not much room in a bay boat to stuff a sport fisher worth of electronics into. Here is a start on the rack in the console, before painting these items. And there was light! You can also see progress on painting the 72" Ulterra though this is way down on the priority list. A closeup up of the powdercoated and painted Livorsi 2nm rated leds. If you look close on any of these photos you might also notice that litteraly every bolt and screw in the entire boat points to 12 o'clock. Seadek has been partially installed and it's incredible.... every line going down the entire boat lines up perfectly. Chase from N.Florida Castaway Customs always does an amazing job. Every flat surface in and out of the entire boat is getting covered. Steve Mousa from Auto Interiors and more is proving once again that he is the best in the business. We chose a diamond pattern in all the uhpolstery, and it matches the seadek, although it looks a bit different in these pics.

Boattronics
Lol thanks guys! Now we are moving into my specialty. Here you can see one of my custom built charging/distribution system, unlike anything else on the planet. This gem not only charges all batteries while running, but allows me to take the trolley batteries out of 36v series and tie into 12v parrelel, so I can power the crazy stereo and lighting system all day or night without running the motor. Not to mention keeping every single breaker on the boat in one completely sealed enclosure, making it all last many years trouble free in the harsh saltwater environment. Also, you guys will be amazed how much it reduces overall clutter when I am done. Here is a look of the rigging in progress....
whichwaysup
Man, I want me one of those . . . Not sure what I'd do with it on an 18 MA, but I just like to look at it.

Boattronics
Thanks! Finally got her in the water, and it feels so good. Lots of blood sweat and tears to get here. Shes way faster now than she used ro be. Im not sure if its because the hull is stiffer now, or probably the ultra smooth bottom. She might even be lighter now after we removed all that foam. Took her offshore yesterday and beat myself bloody, the boat is solid as a rock! Far from done, but at least i can get her bloody now. As you can see, im back to my old tricks lol. Boat has only been in the water a few times and already made it to national television. Heres a pic from the Chevy Insider Fishing show, with over 5 million viewers! Repeating tonight and tommorow if ya look it up. Sight fishing giant reds... And finally, the most important part, ive recieved approval from Captain Trinity. And the boss loves it too!
