pondfisher Posted March 15, 2017 Report Share Posted March 15, 2017 I have two 6.5" JL Audio Marine speakers (in white) up front, facing the helm, and two 6.5" JL Audio Marine speakers on the sides of the center console (in black), being pushed by a JL Audio Marine 400 watt amp underneath my center console front lid/seat. The head unit is inside the center console with bluetooth capability, USB port, aux. port, etc. You don't really need a head unit as you could always just plug your ipod, smart phone, etc., directly into the amp and control the volume with your smart device. I have seen a lot of setups like this but I wanted a good old fashioned stereo head unit (minus a CD option) to leave my phone for other things. You'll notice in one of the pics that I had the front speakers raised out some with starboard so the speaker magnets did not protrude into the those front hatches which I use for food and drink and ice.
