SCFD rtrd.
Have you checked behind the prop to determine if something is wound around the shaft? What is the voltage at the plug? Have you removed the cap off the head and looked for corrosion in the wiring or rheostat?
tarpon41
I had a similar problem, I purchasd another Remote control , programmed it to my trolling motor and that seemed to fix the problem . Also maybe check battery feeding to trolling motor. Or like other guy said corrosion, or motor is on last leg.. hope ya able to fix it !
Miss Jazzy
Nothing's wrapped around the prop and batteries are good. If I barely turn the handle it turns fine but when I try to speed it up it starts doing what you see on the video. Oh and it's not remote controlled
JEM
You will not know whether it is a problem on the boat or in the motor until you check the voltage at the plug. That will tell you whether it is between the male end of the plug to and including the motor or between the female end of the plug back to the batteries. Miss Jazzy
Well it's working now. Even though I messed with the plug yesterday and couldn't get it to work. Today it is. Go figure! Guess it wasnt getting connected just right. Thanks for the yelp anyway.
fishmanjj
My guess is that you have a temperamental female trolling motor.....
SCFD rtrd.
If you don't take your trolling motor off, except for repairs, then just solder the wires together. If you need a repair, cut the cables and you only loose about 2 inches of wire.
