johnd
Getting real tired of having to wash smashed bugs off leading edge of my poling platform, engine cowling & Talon after dragging the skiff on trailer on I-95 or an hour or so. question: how do you all that tow distances keep the bugs off? SCFD rtrd.
I tow between Orlando and S/W Florida about 4 times a year and sometimes the "love-bugs" are awful. However, I keep everything polished, including the truck and trailer. When I get to my destination, a wet sponge removes the critters. Seriously, I think wax/polish or a full cover are your only solutions.

Bamaskeet
You can buy clear shrink wrap used by trucking companies to keep boxes on a pallet. Just wrap your console and poling platform.

whichwaysup
Yeah, i do it all the time. Do it with the truck too to keep it clean longer. Hard to see where you are going, but keeps the bugs off so you do what you got to. Lol, I meant on the leading edge of the poling platform! johnd
Thx. So cover my truck and boat with Saran Wrap & blue painters tape. Not sure that much quicker than washing the bugs off, but be darn funny looking on the Hwy. seriously though, thanks for ideas

smilemaker
Harbour freight the clear wrap and a handle to make it easy to go around things. A trade off on time/distance vs. Washing. An hrs trip wash. 4hr on the road at night wrap.

fishbum321
has anyone looked into towable covers. i know some of the bass guys i fish with cover the boat when it comes out of the garage and uncover at the ramp. my cover almost looks towable but not sure i would try it. they typically have a ratchet strap around the perimeter. blue dolphin
Use Blue painters tape on my Freeman when it goes back forth from Key West to South Texas. On the ttop leading edges tower legs and front of hull and console. 1700 miles, drastically shortens clean up, stays on thru storms. Unlike duct tape leaves no residue.
