Tall Tails Posted April 22, 2017 Report Share Posted April 22, 2017 Rode on a 2015 HPS 2600 today with the Yamaha 300. It has a power-tech 4 blade 21 pitch prop. Top end, I was told is around 54 mph which seems about right. The hole shot was sluggish compared to my 22 V with a 225 SHO. It almost seemed to be over-propped. What prop are you 26 HPS guys running and does your boat jump onto plane? Maybe its just that the 26 is a lot more boat. Dawgfan Posted April 23, 2017 Report Share Posted April 23, 2017 I'm running a 4 blade Turbo Prop, Ultima 4, 14 1/4", 19P. I can run 54 MPH turning 5500 RPM. The RPM/MPH ratio is almost 1:1 across the board. I also get 3 MPG running 40 mph. The ventilated hull is more difficult to get on plane than a none ventilated hull. Big Sexy Posted April 24, 2017 Report Share Posted April 24, 2017 When I ran the 300 I used a Merc prop 4 blade 17 pitch ran the best out of all the props I ran! Not bad midrange top end 53 mph. not sure where you are but, I am willing to sell that prop for 25. Only used for about 4 months still looks perfect.
