SOULMAN
My preferred location for the casting platform want to be about dead center on my forward hatch. Have any of you reinforced the hatch in order to install a tie down point for the platform? My approach would be to add multiple layers of glass to the underside the hatch to spread the loads
jason p
What I've seen, and did myself on a previous boat was a add an aluminum backing plate (approx. 3/16" thick and 5" round) under the hatch. Never had any issues or spider cracks. The best method, though semi-permanent, is to bolt each leg from underneath and be done with it.
