what are you shooting with these days....

Hey Dino.

Still shooting with the Nikon D 610.  As you know, this is the " Serious Amateur's" version of a full size sensor camera.  As opposed to the D 5, the pro camera, which costs more than the total of the first 7 automobiles that I've owned.  The full size sensor provides much better resolution than 1/2 sensor (or DX in Nikon- speak).  Plus, I've been shooting in RAW format which provides color and details that I've never seen before.

Been using a Sigma Sport 180 - 600mm lens for most of the wildlife shots.  Weighs a ton but focuses very fast and can be hand-held even at 600mm!!!  I also use a more compact and lighter weight Nikon 80 - 400mm for dolphin surveys, etc where I need to hold the camera all day without rest.

I love that 600mm lens, lets you get frame-filling shots without disturbing the critters.
