Lowcountry78
What do you guys use to clean your hull when it begins to stain? I waxed the hull in March with Collenite and it has already begun to stain. Tips on cleaning and prevention?

Bamaskeet
Goof Off, I buy a gallon jug for about $10 at Ace Hardware and apply it with a one gallon sprayer. It also works great on a dirty deck.

All of it is a form of acid for the most part. Most acid based cleaners don't play well with any metals. The more you clean your hull the more porous you make it. No creams or lotions can fix my skin or your hull. You just have to step up the frequency of applications to look as good as new.

I could be wrong but I believe Star Brite is fine with metals as it is one of their selling points, other harsher acids are not
Lowcountry Joe
Lysol Toilet Bowl Cleaner (blue top) , been using it for years. Will effect trailer so rinse off imediately. I apply full strength starting at the bow , and by the time I'm finished at the stern it's time to rinse. I use a deck brush for deep stains. It works great and is environmentally safe. I was referencing many of the others mentioned as to the metals. Some of the other stuff will wreak havoc on your trailer so certainly read the ingredients. I have had good luck applying it with a spray bottle and sponge and it is a fairly quick process.
