DonV
A couple of interesting things. It's a 12:1 compression ratio, that's the most for any outboard, the dual props eliminate the need for counter rotation and it's now in the extra heavy weight class of outboards. The good news is there will be a bunch of DF300s out there on trade in, which will fit my SeaCraft re-power needs perfectly.
dabear
12 - 1 compression ratio is pushing pump gas to the limit. Non fresh 92 octane gas and 12-1 compression first time the engine pings the ignition timing automatic retards a few degrees and the performance drops. I am not sure you want a 12-1 compression ratio with today's marine gas-- rec 2 gas is what 87 or 88 octane when it is fresh. Joe R
linesider 159
I like it, only scary thing is that lower unit will be very expensive if it gets damaged
