FunFlatsFishing
Where do you find white bait around here? The water in the back bays is brown as can be and the grass flats have nothing but pinfish
50eggs
All that we have been able to find is very small, appx. 2-3". Will Christmas tree your net unless you are throwing a 1/4 inch mesh. Good news is that the fish are keyed in on bait that size and seem to be willing to eat them. Did well on small snook and mangrove snapper today with bait that size. I actually had the best luck in the passes where the water is cleaner with pinfish. Are you catching anything in the back bays with all this dark brown water? The wife out-fished me today. SCFD rtrd.
Have you tried looking for bait in the surf. Should have east winds in the mornings so the surf should be smooth. Always look for birds.
Drummer
Good pilchard population in the Gulf, all within 30 yards of the beach. BTW, saw tarpon in the same area yesterday. Cayo Costa about half way down.
