HewesYourDaddy
Ok, the decision is made. I'm going to take the platform off. It's gonna be too much of an issue when I hoist the boat in on days I need to use a hoist. I will have to remove the flip up anchor light that is mounted on platform and rewrire back to boat mount. Question is: where is the original anchor light location?
justfish
Top of console. I don't like it cause it's in the way and the light is annoying when it's on but really no other option unless you wanna get a stern light pole about 5' long to go above console. I have a t top now with light up top
HewesYourDaddy
Ah, so that's what that plug is for... I was thinking that was an odd location for an accessory outlet location, but I guess I can see now that it's a receptacle for light pole (didn't pay whole lot of attention to the connection type under the rubber cover). BradM
It probably wouldn't be so bad if it were on one side or the other, but it isn't. I've thought about moving mine, but it just isn't worth the hassle and the additiaonal wiring. Not to mention I'm on the water at night maybe once a year. SCFD rtrd.
I'd fashion some type of deflector to go under the light. That would cut the glare, but not interfere with the function of the light.
Sunstone
I don't know if it's a newer light but mine on my 23 hps doesn't get in my eyes at all.

The newer style anchor lights are designed so that they don't throw light straight down or straight up. The old style threw light in all directions and did cause some nigh blindness.
