Wanaflatsfish
Had a chance to fish the last few weekends....one trip with my buddy Chris and two with Capt DonH. Most of the time we headed South and found some summer time snooklets (not the big girls from Jupiter)....but, fun anyways.... Found a few friends to go take home for dinner on the last trip - 2 nice slot reds and a random Pompano....good-eats Nothing too eventful - the MA17 continues to perform....previous trip - ran her easy and covered 67 miles in 14 gallons (28-30 mph)....last trip, ran her hard (32-34 mph) most of the day and covered 58 miles in 16.5 gallons - so, seems like we are still between 3.5 -4 mpg.....which gives me a nice 70 mile range which is as far south as I need to run. a few pics... One snook on a fresh crab - cut in 1/4's on the bottom, rest of snook on live shrimp - bare jig head, rigged weedless and pop,n over the oyster bars in free running water. DonH lost a monster snook at the river mouth on 1/2 cut crab, soaking on the bottom - must been 20 lbs, gilled the leader Uggggh Reds - one nice one on finger mullet under a pop'n cork, other reds on live shrimp on jig head slowly pop'n along the bottom - straight line with 40 lbs leader. dc
