JWalk
Gents - I have been looking at a number of boats trying to find something safe, clean and reasonable in cost, primarily for use by my teenage boys in the backwater. This boat has me intrigued, but I know nothing about this model. Can any owners out there share any information on these boats good or bad? Any good vs. bad years? Thanks for any input. Miss Jazzy
The main issue are the stringers. I beleive the issuses were fixed in 2000 and newer models. A lot of the pre 2000 boats had them fixed, you just need to make sure if the one your looking at has been done or not. Other than that they are pretty neat little boats. HewesYourDaddy
I've always liked them and the Hewes Tailfisher (same boat pretty much). Never been on one though.
Lap it Up
99 and older had a lot of issues with the floor delaminating from the stringers. Unless it has been repaired or checked by a professional I would stay away. If the floor and stringers check out they are fun little poling skiffs. Don't plan on crossing big bays or handling much chop. They are basically flat bottom and will knock your teeth out in a decent chop.
