Killer
I currently have a Garmin 3210 unit and has worked flawlessly since we got the boat. Within the last two weeks the sonar screen is not giving detailed bottom image like it use to. I feel like it is reading the bottom depth accurately however the image on the screen is not how it use to look. Any advice is on a fix is appreciated before I have to spend money on an expert. Thanks.
HewesYourDaddy
Time for new unit. Looks like maybe an internal issue of some kind. Not sure how old the unit is, but Garmin doesn't support older units (prob same with all manufacturers)
Killer
It is definitely an older unit and no longer supported by Garmin. Just *** because up until now it worked so well for an older unit.
hurricane
Is there some type of factory reset you could try?
fishmanjj
Call Garmin and ask for technical support....they have a great support team and are willing to help no matter how old the unit is.
SCFD rtrd.
Is the unit set to the proper kHz. Need the higher kHz for shallow water and lower for deep water.
Killer
Ill try calling Garmin, thanks!
rckeat
I think SCFD might have something. Try changing the khz to the 200 setting and see what that does. 50 khz is for deep water.
polliwog
I have an old Garmin comb unit that is 18yrs old, can't believe it's been that long. This past several weeks it can't be reliable to pick up satelites,so no GPS. I just bgt a new unit, time has come, If it is 10 yrs old trade up. I'm impressed my unit lasted that long, good on Garmin.
