plainsman5 Posted August 14, 2017 Report Posted August 14, 2017 Guys I have a 2004 2200v patchy and both of port and starboard cleats have become loose. Has anyone tackled this problem? If so, what did you do? Thanks for for any help! Jason
smilemaker Posted August 14, 2017 Report Posted August 14, 2017 On my 2004 te the cleats were not loose but I installed rod holders in the gunnel on each side of the aft cleats and if I had to I could probably get to the back of the cleat
Miss Jazzy Posted August 14, 2017 Report Posted August 14, 2017 Had this problem before and the only way to get to them to tighten them up is to unfortunately cut a hole. Either cut another rod holder hole and hope you can reach it or cut in a pie hole on the side of the gunnels, which is not very appealing. Tough call. I just left mine alone. Never had a problem using it but if I left the boat in over night I wouldn't use that cleat but tie of elsewhere so it wouldn't pull out if it got rough.
plainsman5 Posted August 18, 2017 Author Report Posted August 18, 2017 Thanks gentlemen for your response. Sounds like I will be adding 2 new rod holders! How difficult is it to add cleats midship?
