HoneyB
I have seen people in the past discuss in great length how to cut a hole for tilted rod holders. I installed two today and thought I would share how simple it was. 1) placed painters tape on top of the rod holder and cut out the hole. 2) marked two lines on the boat one on the forward line on on the inboard line of where I wanted the holder to be. 3) peeled the painters tape from the holder and placed it on the boat 4) using a 2 inch hole saw with pilot bit I started to drill. As soon as I had a pilot I just tilted the drill over. I had my tri-square ready.. but had a thought .. hell just turn the rod holder upside down behind the drill... lined the drill up with the upsidedown rod holder and drilled my hole.. CG RYAN
Looks great. What brand rod holders are they? I need some up by my anchor hatch and 2 more in the gunnels.
HoneyB
I ordered them from Gemlux.they have a nice discount for THT members. I want to put two more up on the bow as well. What are you thinking for forward holders? I am thinking 15 degree facing forward and out.
Redrum
I put 2 zero degree rod holders in the bow....it works better for my type of fishing. They are easier to see from the back of the boat.
