jolson Posted August 30, 2017 Report Posted August 30, 2017 Selling my 2002 Hewes Redfisher 18 in sea foam green. It's been a great boat, but I'm looking to go up slightly in size. When I purchased the boat in 2008, she had just 36 hours on her. I'm given to understand that she was garage kept by a single owner up til that point. The hours had run up to the low 300's before the tac stopped working a month ago - she hasn't been run much in the last 2 years except in the last few months to prepare for sale. The boat came with 2 stern-mounted trolling motors, but they gave me nothing but trouble; so I replaced them with a bow-mounted 24-volt Motorguide Great White tiller steer 82 lbs thrust with quick detach mount. I left the extended trim tabs upon which the motors were mounted as they came. These tabs almost seem oversized for the boat as they'll keep it on plane at fairly low speeds. Deep cycles sit under the center console and were replaced in late 2015. Boat takes 2 cranking batteries in the aft starboard compartment, but I only keep one in the boat just to reduce weight a scosche. The cranking battery was replaced in the last 3 years and hasn't had a hiccup. Boat is wired for a Garmin GPSMap unit with sounder installed off the starboard transom. Motor is original to the boat. Yamaha 115 HP 4-stroke with a Rapture 3-blade prop, serviced yearly by professionals. I've seen top end speeds as high as 49 mph on the GPS, though when we ran her recently, she clocked 42 with a full tank and 3 men on her own speedometer (no GPS). Trailer had one tire replaced in 2015, and then the other and the spare in 2016. Trailer tongue is swing away. Last checked, both livewell pumps work well as do their recirculation pumps and the bilge pump (both demand and float modes). Steering cable was replaced in July. Only known problem with the boat is a throttle that is extremely tight near neutral. I had the throttle and shifter cables replaced in 2010, and the stiff/narrow neutral was the result - never enough of an issue for me to worry about it. Not ideal, but manageable. Aluminum backrest hinges replaced with stainless steel in 2011. Life jackets and throw cushion included, as is anchor with chain and line. Asking $19,999. Located in Tallahassee, FL. I also have a custom built black powder coated wrap-around casting platform with white cushions and white seadek available for $1500. Pictures upon request. 229.225.8910 or jolson20@gmail.com.
