hawg
I'm going to remove the two 2 inch stainless thru hull fittings on my 23DV for maintenance. Do any of you know what type of sealer was used at the factory when these were installed? I want to get an idea of what I'm up against before I take these out. SCFD rtrd.
I have no idea what was used at the factory, but surely they used a removable caulking. What type of maintenance are you doing?
hawg
I'm adding a Groco transition piece that accepts the straight threads from the thru-hull and the tapered threads from the ball valve. The current mismatch bugs me.

Don't be surprised if you find 5200 on the fitting. I would suggest using a heat gun before putting a wrench on the fitting.
