Fish-on
I noticed when running the water through the engine while doing a engine clean out, after a day out on the water, that some black carbon built up comes out with the water if you hit the throttle a little. Does that indicate a problem ? Yamaha F115 four stroke.
mdemott
I run a 2012 Yamaha 115 and have never noticed that problem. I only run rec gas, use ring free and SeaFoam. Oil is Amsoil Marine Four Stroke. I change plugs every year and so far have not noticed any fouling. I guess I would pull my plugs and see they are burning evenly. SCFD rtrd.
So, the carbon is coming out of the prop/exhaust right? Or is it coming out of the pee-hole?
Fish-on
It is coming out of the Prop/exhaust when I goose the motor. Otherwise it is running fine...just wondering if it was running too rich.
SCFD rtrd.
The cheapest and easiest thing to do is to run some de-carboning stuff through the motor. Like mdemott suggests.
