Onionrings
Does anyone have a 2500 with the SHO 250? If yes, are you happy with it or regret not going with the 300? What are everyone's thoughts on the SHO 250 on the 2500??? TIA
Tall Tails
I went with the 300. I had an SHO 225 on my 2200V. I would not have put the 250 on this boat. It's big and a lot heavier than the 2200. Fuel efficiency is over 3 mpg as long as I keep the RPM's under 4000. IMO the 300 is enough but I wouldn't want less than that on the stern of the 2500. There is no advantage to under powering a boat. If Merc offered a 3 yr warranty on their 400R I would have considered that a little harder. One year warranty on something that pricey is a little hard to swallow.

The 400R does come with 3 year warranty now for recreational use. http://www.mercuryracing.com/promotions/
