fsusteve Posted November 10, 2017 Report Posted November 10, 2017 Not a Kevlar hull, just hatches, is very clean looking but low hours can also mean lots of little things needing work.
hurricane Posted November 10, 2017 Report Posted November 10, 2017 Looks nice. Why doesn't Yamaha use stickers that are UV resistant. Kinda *** one side is faded and the other looks fine.

Lap it Up Posted November 11, 2017 Report Posted November 11, 2017 I wouldn't say that's a steal. Those HPDI's do not do well with sitting. Low hours on an outboard that old is not always a good thing. Also appears it has lived in the sun all its life. Still my favorite MBC hull!!
FMB MEGALOPS Posted November 11, 2017 Author Report Posted November 11, 2017 Yep, Yep & Yep to all the above. I just like seeing these come up. They're always going to be the guys that are HPDI fans and ones that are not. Everybody has their story! For me it would have to be a very special circumstance to own another.
J.N Posted November 13, 2017 Report Posted November 13, 2017 My hpdi was a nightmare when my uncle owned it. It never got used and it spent too many days in the shop. I've owned it now for just over a year and I run it every weekend. I never run ethanol fuels and it gets ring free religiously. So far it's been running great since I stopped using yamaha lube. That stuff fouled my plugs for some reason?

That stuff fouled my plugs for some reason? Correct... HPDI's need clean - corn free fuel, good semi/full synthetic oil and need to be run hard before putting it back on the trailer. You also need to be religious with seasonal servicing.
