emptysea
Looking to purchase a Pathfinder for northeast bay fishing and taking kids to beach etc. Anyone with 2300 HPS can you comment on running in Moderate 1-2' bay chop..
Sunstone
I live and fish the mid bay of the Chesapeake bay in Maryland. One to 2 feet is the norm for the bay. I run 9 miles from the western shore to the eastern shore back waters just to cross with no problems. Have had the wind get up and the run back can be nasty 3 or 4 footers but one to 2 just cuts through them.
Onionrings
1-2' chops easy for the PF2300. Go for it!
Robert3
Moderate bay chop is eaten by the 2300HPS. i use mine all the time in that condition, but, 3-4 footers following sea, i dunno.. I have taken a big boat wake, over the bow and filled it. It'll be great in the bays of NE, I am taking mine to Massachusetts this year, can't wait. JeffD
I'm not at all familiar with NE bay fishing but I can tell you that the 2300HPS handles 1-2' chop in South Louisiana with ease. Been through 3-4 footers several times and it gets a little bumpy but never worried about making it to where I was going. Just an all around great boat!!!! Sunstone
I have 1 8 foot 2 would work better for holding straight but not necessary. Plus the extra weight and cost.

Sunstone
This was in Fl bay, I'd guess 1 1/2 foot chop ran her up to 45mph.
