Placida Kayaker Posted January 10, 2018 Report Posted January 10, 2018 Recently purchased a 2008 Pathfinder 2000v and want to replace front igloo cooler with a Yeti or Engel cooler. I plan on installing a seat cushion on it. Would like to work with factory installed tie downs, but can go without or install new tie downs to accommodate new cooler. Does anyone know which size cooler would be the best fit? I’m looking at the Yeti 45 and 50, but would certainly consider an Engel. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
SCFD rtrd. Posted January 10, 2018 Report Posted January 10, 2018 I think the size depends on what you intend to use it for. If it's just for drinks and lunch, a smaller cooler will do and you have more walking room between the cooler and rod lockers/storage compartments.
dcathey Posted January 10, 2018 Report Posted January 10, 2018 I use a 50 yeti with cushion and yeti tie downs on my 22. The extra height is nice for more cooler space and less footprint of a 65. 2 people can sit comfortably on it
Placida Kayaker Posted January 10, 2018 Author Report Posted January 10, 2018 I really want to go with the 50, but not sure if the 50 will fit the 2000 console ( which I believe is smaller in size than the 2200). Unfortunately my boat is kept I a marina ... so tough for me to get down to measure. dcathy - do you feel the tie downs are necessary if boat is not trailered?
fishmanjj Posted January 10, 2018 Report Posted January 10, 2018 If you put a Yeti 50 with some ice / drinks, etc.... it will not move. No tie downs necessary....JMHO
wthree3 Posted January 10, 2018 Report Posted January 10, 2018 Get the 50. No tiedowns needed. You'll appreciate the taller height when you set it on the front or rear deck and use it as a seat or casting platform.
awall Posted January 10, 2018 Report Posted January 10, 2018 The 50 Yeti is a perfect fit. It's almost the exact size as the console. I have one in my 2000V.
dcathey Posted January 11, 2018 Report Posted January 11, 2018 Yep tie downs not really needed when loaded but I tie it down bc it’s not always full when I’m trailering
Wanaflatsfish Posted January 14, 2018 Report Posted January 14, 2018 I had a Yetti 105 on my 2005 Pathy....with a seat cushion...it was just the right size to sit with the backrest.... dc
