hawg
Have any of you guys figured out a way to fit 3, group 34, Optima batteries into the console of an HPX 17? It seems as if it will require some sort of shelf or rack as the footprint of the floor itself is not big enough to accommodate the third battery. Thanks for any advice or ideas. Big Dave
It's tight with two--not sure it's possible to get 3 in there!
Wanaflatsfish
What size engine do you have? Lifeline batteries makes some small starter batteries....DonH had one on his 17 HPX T that cranked a 70hp perfectly. you can then tie in a 1-2 all switch to have reserve..... dc
Headhunter
I have 3 in the HPXS. Ft Myers Marine did the install. They are in a starboard tray and two are mounted front to back and one right to left. 34m batteries but they are not Optima. I can take some pictures if you like. Headhunter
I hope this makes sense to you. The 2 batteries for the trolling motor are mounted fore and aft and the starting battery port to starboard. The TM batteries go in one starboard tray and the starting battery in its own. The battery charger is mounted on the port bulkhead along with its external plug. Bungees hold them down. As I said before Ft Myers Marine did the rigging for the previous owner.
