rubble Posted January 25, 2018 Report Posted January 25, 2018 Were all of the ‘06 models the same tank? Were they aluminim or fglass? I covered up the rigging hole in the CC with the 4 batteries so I cannot tell without removing the batteries and starboard base.
Bamaskeet Posted January 25, 2018 Report Posted January 25, 2018 I believe you have a 50 gal plastic gas tank.
Phinz13 Posted January 26, 2018 Report Posted January 26, 2018 I have a 2006 TE and trying to find out the same thing. Looking through manuals online, I see some are 60 gal (polyethylene) some have 80 gals but it doesnt state the year. Im guessing the newer models are 80 gal Hoping someone here can help

I have a brochure from 2006-2007, and it shows that both the 2200V and the 2200 TE had 60 gallon tanks.
Ron in Atlanta Posted January 27, 2018 Report Posted January 27, 2018 60 Gal Poly. The poly is slightly permeable so you may have a slight oder of gas coming from the anchor locker. Laurie always noticed it because she spent lots of time stretched out on the bow cushions up there. Not an explosive amount, just enough to notice in still air.
Bamaskeet Posted January 27, 2018 Report Posted January 27, 2018 I believe the 2000V has a plastic 50 gal tank and the 2200V has a 60 gal plastic tank.

rubble Posted January 31, 2018 Author Report Posted January 31, 2018 So plastic can be in issue? I'm at the 12 year mark. Wondering if I should be concerned with having to do any type of maintenance?
dcathey Posted February 1, 2018 Report Posted February 1, 2018 I have an 06 22. I sometimes smell a slight odor in anchor locker as well. I’ve inspected and cleaned everything that I can. I’ve yet to see any signs of a leak but the odor must be the permeability of the tank itself.
Bamaskeet Posted February 1, 2018 Report Posted February 1, 2018 The gas odor is typical for a plastic gas tank. Ideally, if you keep your hatches open a little they will air out and you will not get the gas smell.
