Headhunter
I need a little guidance. In September I bought 20 gallons of regular ethanol gas for my generator and the coming hurricane. Since the house was trashed I never used it and couldn't get to it until recently. I am not sure what to do with it. I never put Startron in it and if it's no good how do I get rid of it. I thought of adding Startron now to my cars a little at a time but they use high test. Ideas and thoughts are appreciated.
bernieNC
Offer it to a neighbor to use in their truck.
polliwog
If you kept it in a gerry cans with no breather vent, which is normal, I doubt you have any water issues. I would put some in a glass jar and see what it looks like. As long as there is no phase separation evident use it or give it away. It is only 4 mos old. hurricane
If you can't give it away, it's a good weed killer.
HoneyB
I would burn it in my car .. or lawn mower..if you don’t want to I bet you could give it away to a neighbor as stated above or the first guy you see with a lawn trailer attached to his truck

The other day while running on gas purchased for hurricane I noticed it had the slightest “miss” and got curious if it was the gas so switched it over to propane and it immediately ran smooth as silk. So I am thinking the gas is on way out.

johnd
Not your lawn mower or any small engine. Put 5-10 gallons in your truck, fill up the tank..do it again next week (assume you burn a tank a week). You might get a bit lower fuel mileage, but just burn it
Headhunter
Thanks for the ideas. I have decided take a sample and if it's good put a little startron in each and dump 5 gallons at a time in the car.

I did and it trashed both of my ATV's.
