hferrell87
Thanks... It amazes me what a phone can do as far as pictures. This picture was actually 6 MB, but had to be shrunk. I do have a Nikon D5000 that I am going to start shooting pics and videos with. Any suggestions on good settings that you would know of?

I do have a Nikon D5000 that I am going to start shooting pics and videos with. Any suggestions on good settings that you would know of? What lenses ? My main advice for shooting....learn to shot in Apeture mode... This allows you to control the BOKEH - background blurr.... As well, you can control your ISO to allow you to move up and down the apeture range..... When you shoot in Apeture...you set the Apeture (e.g. 2.8, or F4, etc) and the camera will adjust the shutter speed....if you are shooting in low light, then you might need to increase the ISO.....by controlling Apeture, you control your Depth Of Field plane... If you have time, join Kelbytraining.com and they have numerous videos on digital photography to help you.... DC
hferrell87
Thanks for the info. I bought that Nikon for our honeymoon in Jamaica and havent really used it since. Took it out the other day and was getting awesome action pics of birds. I will look into that training video for sure. Thanks again!
