Northfl
Ok guys, I recently bought a maverick from a friend of mine.. so between dodging nasty weather and night shift I decided to replace the double front roller with a new set of bunks. All that went well. When I cut the roller bracket from the trailer I found the aluminum cross member to have been eaten away pretty good under the old carbon steel metal bracket. So I replaced it also the next day.. just wanted to give you guys a heads up as some of you may have the same issue if you have them dissimilar metals on your trailers.. and it could turn bad on the way to the ramp

mustang190
Dissimilar metal corrosion. You cannot mate two dissimilar metals together, especially in a corrosive environment like saltwater.
SouthernWake
Is there any way to put a barrier between? For example how should I install a galvanized roller bracket on an aluminum trailer
Capt. Troy
Flex seal tape or similar. I have even seen builders use tar paper and rubber gasket material.

polliwog
Sounds like all aluminum trailers should be made that way. I'll have to check mine today. THX for the heads up.
