RL2 Posted April 5, 2018 Report Posted April 5, 2018 Doing a refresh on my 98 Bayfisher. Would like to replace the rod holders. There's only 2 on one side. Would like to put 2 on the other side. Noticed these look like they were cut to fit at the top too. I'd like for it to look better. Any ideas where I can get the correct ones? Hewes dealer said, "check Amazon". Don't want to drill new holes in glass if I can avoid it. Have some cut from Starboard?
mulligan Posted April 5, 2018 Report Posted April 5, 2018 I had a 97 that look the same as yours, they were made of Starboard/pvc board. Could you just remove what you have using it as a template to make another set for the other side?
RL2 Posted April 5, 2018 Author Report Posted April 5, 2018 Yeah...I took them off already. Stopping by Plastics America tomorrow. Will see how much it costs to have them cut 'em. Was thinking about getting a router and jigsaw and cutting some myself. We'll see. Thx.
RL2 Posted May 19, 2018 Author Report Posted May 19, 2018 Update...I had some custom made by Nautical Way of Life. He's on FB, located in Bartow, FL area. Very helpful and detailed. Did it all by mail.
SlapLappy Posted June 19, 2018 Report Posted June 19, 2018 They look perfect, but what happens when the bungee wears out? Do you have to pull them again to replace?
RL2 Posted June 25, 2018 Author Report Posted June 25, 2018 If you run a screw though the top, could be tight. You can't see them but there's also hole in the side near the top so you can run the chord through there, or tighten down with a screw through the side if you want. I have enough room on top to get to it with a little angled screw driver - hopefully years from now.
