Trout fishing in Apalachicola Bay

Recommended Posts

I was wondering how the trout fishing is going down yonder?   Me and a few fishing buddies are thinking about a quick 2 or 3 day trip down there in a week or so.  I have never even been to Apalachicola Bay, but we would be staying on St. George Island.    How is the trout fishing?  Reds?  Any areas to look at or artificials to stock up on if we do it?   Thanks for any insight!

Would the last weekend of May be considered "summertime?"   It sounds like trout fishing could be sloooowwww, based on your report.   I was going to take my boat, but if the fishing is slow, I might have to pass! LOL

There’s plenty of trout out there in the bay. Cobia around the buoys and markers.  They catch a lot of triple tail around the island. In the cut and on the east end they are catching pompano.  Prolly a lil early for tarpon. I have a friend that fishes off the old bridge and he catches reds all the time.
