Fishstories Mark
I have recently bought a Maverick 92' 16 express, I was using the live-well and the pump was very noisy. Tried to look how to access the pump with no luck. Can anyone tell me about this? Thanks
FLDXT
There isnt an access hatch in your splashwell? Should be right there but I dont think I've ever seen or even know what a 16 Express is. Got some pics?
Fishstories Mark
Don't have pics at the moments. Yes it does have the access hatch but the pump in there is only the bilge pump. The water line coming in to the live well comes from under neath the live well and the intake thru hull is also located under the live well. As to the model of the boat the bill of sale states 16 Express but it is more that likely a 17.
FLDXT
What does the intake look like under the hull? The pump would have to be at the intake, it should have a seacock and it should be accessible. U sure it's a Maverick?
Fishstories Mark
The intake from the bottom of the hull is a brass slotted type cover. The Title shows it's a Mverick. I have contacted Maverick directly to see if they can help also.
FLDXT
The pump should be sitting on top of the a seacock, which sits on top of the thru hull you are seeing. Not sure why they would put a thru hull with a seacock, assuming it has one, that is inaccessible.

polliwog
It is hard to conceive of a thru hull you couldn't have access to. It is plain dangerous . All thru hulls should have to have a shut off valve for obvious reasons.

Fishstories Mark
Hi Capt DeWalt I found a mechanic that specializes in skiffs and he was able to find it and replace it. Thanks for your response.
