Smoak352
I want to replace the two lift-up 4" cleats on the stern with 6" lift up. I used a screw driver to loosen the screws and they just spin. The cleat will not budge. If there is a nut on the back of these then how the heck do I get to them? Please advise. Mangroovin
I don't have those on mine but ya might end up cutting an access hole that will accept a cover plate in sidewall/rear wall of each of the stern port/starboard storage wells. Just a thought. Sounds like a PIA.......

I have heard of drilling out the scews and then replacing with an oversized stainless butterfly toggle bolt. Are they going to be used to hold the boat up on a lift or you just want larger cleats? polliwog
I would give the guys at Hewes a shout out, maybe Skip who would know if they were thru bolted or just screwed into the deck. Do you have the same cleat on the pow? You might check to see if it is thru bolted. i do know the poling platforms legs are just lag bolted in on my 20ft LT. Quite a surprise.
